SHARPAL 208H Polishing Compound 2-Pack

The SHARPAL 208H Green Buffing Compound is perfect for achieving a medium to fine polish. It can be used with a buffing wheel for polishing jobs or a leather strop for straight razors, knives, and chisels. When used on most metals, the compound will produce a beautiful mirror finish. Ideally, use these compounds with soft muslin and spiral sewn buffing wheels. The Green Buffing Compounds are specifically designed for the final cut, initial polish, and final polish, and are most effective on stainless steel or aluminum for a brilliant finish. This particular green buffing compound will quickly achieve a fine polish on the edge of knives and tools. Made from fine chromium oxide and aluminum oxide abrasive, it creates a polished, honed edge on your tools and can be used on leather, wood, or synthetic strops.

The waxy consistency of the compound makes for easy application. Simply rub the compound bar on your leather strop and evenly apply it to the surface. After application, the leather strop will polish blade edges more quickly, helping you achieve a mirror polish. It's typically best to cover the entire surface of the leather strop with the green buffing compound, remembering that a little goes a long way. Additionally, the leather strop can be used without any compound, so if a small spot is missed, it will still be effective. If the compound is too dry to load onto the strop, it can be heated using a heat gun or hair dryer. If the leather is too dry or hard, applying mineral oil or honing oil will soften it.
